Shaping up
Most of us go through life wishing we could just be a few kilograms lighter and for your wedding you often want to be at your lightest and have a beautifully sculpted body. While this is possible for a lot of people it is often not a reality for many of us, but this doesn’t mean that you should grab the nearest quick fix pill or stop eating all together!
Obsessing about your weight is only going to add more stress to your life when there is already so much to think about. Remember that you are beautiful and that the man who will be waiting for you at the front of that aisle believes that you are the most stunning woman in the world. Always make sure that your goal is to be healthy.
A bride that is too thin will look far worse than a bride who is slightly soft around the edges. Eat healthily and allow yourself a treat every once in a while. If you are too strict with yourself you are likely to damage your body and your diet wont be sustainable.
Exercise will help you firm up as well as give your mind a break from the wedding worries. It is well documented that exercise relieves stress and the feel-good endorphins that flow through your body will help you to stay happy and on top of life.
The February 2010 issue of the Shape magazine has a full article on The Wedding Workout including six moves that will help to tone you in all of the right places. Go to www.shapemag.co.za/your_fitness/workouts/2334/The-wedding-workout for the full plan.
If exercise and healthy eating was easy, we’d all look like models. Be willing to commit to this and make it sustainable so that you don’t pick it all up again as soon as you are back from honeymoon.
