oh dear dear dear….
I officially start training on Monday, but after chatting to a friend about the training program I know that I need to get a little fitter before starting. She joined joined one of the other triathlon groups for training last week to see what it is like and the stories of running up hill for 12 minutes made me scared. Tie that in to the fact that I have my sister’s wedding in exactly 2 weeks and have picked up a few nasty kilograms from a 4 week holiday and I need to do some serious work.
I have done a couple of spinning sessions since being back and decided to give the running a try again today… I only managed 3km’s with walk breaks in 20 minutes! Of course, training on the treadmill is vastly different to training on the road, but still, eish!! So I am trying to convince my friend to take me for an early morning jog on Thursday before I go off to my cooking course to see if I can at least make it on the road. I fear that she will have to slow down and walk a bit with me though.
In the mean time, I am going to be adjusting my diet to be fruit and vegetables for a few days (bar some exceptions of prearranged meetings) and see if I can kickstart this body back into gear.
I am also going bicycle shopping soon and will let you know about all of that.
