Ahh Soul Food! Each time we go to Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens we have to bypass the Gorillas:

Obviously these aren’t real Gorillas, they are carvings from huge blocks of wood.

On Saturday we climbed up Table Mountain and came down through the Kirstenbosch gardens. The weather was perfect for it – overcast and cool. So of course we stopped off to say hello.

I find these statues remarkably calming. They have smooth shoulders and heads from all of the hands that have rubbed them and I always go up and give them a rub too.

Theie large, quiet presence is just beautiful and feeds my soul.I can’t help but smile every time I think about them.
