Chris and Angela’s wedding

Again, better late than never…

Angela is a running buddy of mine and asked me to help out with her wedding. They wanted something very low-key and easy and what started out as a quick visit to the registry office turned into an incredibly natural and special wedding.

The ceremony was held on Chapman’s peak drive and after 2 weeks of strong wind we had a perfectly still and nicely overcast day. It started to rain about 5 minutes after we left.

Yes that is a little bubble machine on the bottom right. I’ve used them so many times and they are fantastic. Chris and Angela were just glowing and you could tell that the focus of the day was just right.

The Picnic areas at Chapman’s peak are controlled by Table Mountain National Parks and Chris organised with them that the venue could be used. Apparently you can do whatever you want as long as you get there early enough to book the spot. There weren’t too many people there and once they saw us setting up and people arriving they very kindly moved a little further along.

The reception was then held at Sunset Decks Guesthouse in Sunset Beach. It was a lovely relaxed evening with some yummy snacks from Contemporary Gourmet, lots of sparkling wine and finished off with the wedding cakes…my very first wedding cakes. The couple wanted 3 different kinds of wedding cake and I had great fun with the cakes:

Chocolate ganache cake

And of course everyone had a couple of pillow biscuits to eat with coffee or take home with them.

Pillow Biscuit favoursEverything for this wedding seemed to be relaxed and easy and this is where the Bridal couple really set the tone. Everyone had a blast and really enjoyed meeting the other people in the couples lives and catching up with friends and family.

A highly successful wedding and service providers that I would definitely recommend.

To Chris and Angela: I wish you all of the best and may your adventurous spirits continue to take you beyond your expectations.
